A Software Carpentry workshop is hands-on two-day event that covers the core skills needed to be productive in a small research team. Short tutorials alternate with practical exercises, and all instruction is done via live coding. All workshop participants are required to abide by our code of conduct to ensure that all attendees to have an enjoyable and fulfilling experience.
The sessions are for complete novices, and will get you to the point where you will be able to quickly get working with your own research.
You will need to bring your own computer, and this workshop will cover the beginnings of the Unix Shell, R, and Git to get you productive and working.
This workshop will include sessions on:
- Using the unix shell: productivity with files and folders
- Programming with R
- Using Git for reproducible research
