Whaowhia te Kete Mātauranga In-Person

Whaowhia te kete mātauranga: Ngā pakanga o Aotearoa

Following on from the last discussion with Karirā, this workshop will look closely at warfare, both physical and ‘legal’, between Māori and the Crown. It will examine certain areas of Aotearoa New Zealand that felt the full brunt of warfare regarding Māori and the Crown. Furthermore, this workshop will discuss legislation that coincided with warfare and advanced the Crown colonisation of Aotearoa New Zealand. For any research students that want to gain knowledge on historical confrontations that occurred and occur in Aotearoa New Zealand, this is the workshop for you.
