Lunchtime Kōrero - Advice on taking up research opportunities overseas (Student Panel) In-Person

Take a break and widen your research horizon by listening to a 20-to-30-minute talk followed by Q&A and networking over tea, coffee and biscuits! Every first Tuesday of the month, tea and coffee will be provided. We encourage you to bring your own cup (however cups are available if you forget).

 

Advice on taking up research opportunities overseas – Student Panel

Has an opportunity arisen to undertake your research overseas? Maybe an invitation to a research collaborators lab, or an internship with a leading organisation, or possibly a scholarship with a leading research centre. In this panel students who have taken up such opportunities share their stories, insights and advice for those considering similar options.

Speakers:

  • Jack Patterson – Studying towards a PhD in Computer Science. 3-month research internship with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

  • Sidney Wong – Submitted his Doctorate in Linguistics. Fulbright Scholar undertaking a one-year exchange to the University of Illinois at Urbana Champagne.
